The only real concern I have is that we'll run Gravenberch and 1 or 2 more midfielders into the ground i march. Too much football for 5 guys to cover and we don't really use more than 5.

Hey Josh - quick question - would Pep Guardiola trade his midfielders for Liverpool's midfielders straight up right now? Looking at how much praise he heaped on Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, and Jones, he clearly likes them. They are all young and full of energy and Jurgen really deserves a lot of credit for assembling his Liverpool 2.0 midfield, but I honestly think Pep would trade Nunes, Silva, Rico Lewis, KDB, Kovacic and Gundogan in a heartbeat for Grav, Szobo, Mac, Jones, and Elliott. It gets a little trickier when you have to guess if Rodri comes back as good as ever off his injury and if you call Grealish, Foden and Doku midfielders, but for the rest of this season, I think that trade is a no brainer, they just look very old and weak in midfield.

Who would have thought we would have such an advantage over any Pep team as he LOVES his midfielders!

Yes, I think he would in a heartbeat.

Good read as always Josh. The point you make regarding being so flexible tactically within games is the point that makes me feel like it’s sustainable. More difficult games to come and every week feels like a big week, it’s great position to be in and long may it continue.

Jesus. What an ending. I still get nervous when the crowd starts singing about being top of the league 2-0 with 10 to go and Josh’s is calling the league!! 😊

I’ll keep it simple this week

Sobbo’s energy

Macca’s harassing

And

Grava’s control

Is just perfect with Jones Endo and Elliott to support the midfield trio

You’ll Never Walk Alone 🔴

Sadly, too much of the debate has been about Citch's fall off or Arsenal's injuries easy start, etc., and not enough about genuinely how good Liverpool have been. They have been exceptional and long may it continue.

Slot has brought calmness and control without dispensing of Klopp's attacking prowess.

As previously said we have two very good players in each spot so hopefully injuries will not have a major impact. The players have the bit between their teeth to navigate successfully the difficulty run of away games and the Christmas period.

City are probably out and Arsenal will be our biggest threat.

Brilliant piece, Josh. Thanks. I was getting out of me seat there and rambling about the likelihood of Slot becoming complacent vs the likelihood of a fkn Pandemic. I deleted the whole ramble as it was far too cocky and tempting 'the mockers' but, in 6-7 months, (inc pre-season), we haven't even seen him unshaven and his is a fuckin big shave indeed. I don't believe the 'C' word exists in his dictionary and without Slot's complacency...the arse will remain, to quote Atco, 'none of our fuckin business'. Given that we've done a third of the calendar...the pandemic would need to be Yersinia Pestis to stop all games. Ergo, our biggest threat is The fuckin Black Death. FFS Josh, I'm well into that...Bring out ya dead...clang, clang.

If we can win at least four of the next six we'll definitely be in a very healthy position when Konate returns. We can't afford any more defensive injuries though..I can't see Arsenal or Chelsea reeling off six wins in a row.

I am part of a massive LFC Latin America group and we asked a question to the group regarding signings. Yes I know its boring, but do you think they’ll sign say a player this winter to solidify the squad? Left center back/LB hybrid or a midfielder that can jump in case of an injury to the engine room?

Unless Zubimendi has changed his mind and now feels willing to leave his home, I can’t see us doing much business. Although I wouldn’t rule it out.
